In June 2017 my Husband and I finally decided to stop dreaming and put into action our plan to move to The Isle of Wight. The magnificent scenery now inspires many of my paintings and we have no regrets (apart from wishing that we had been braver sooner!). One thing that I’ve really noticed since living here is that everyone is so friendly, we have been made extremely welcome. As well as this, Island businesses really support each other, Twitter is full of local companies liking and sharing. Whenever I post an Island inspired scene on social media I receive positive feedback from everyone.
THE ISLE OF WIGHT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
This feeling of community, led us, as Julia Tanner Art, to join the Chamber of Commerce at the beginning of the year. We can now attend networking events and workshops, the first of which was ‘Brilliant Blogging’ hosted by Magpie
A BLOGGING WORKSHOP
The day started unusually with a fire alarm where we gathered outside in the cold – someone will remember that birthday cake for a long time……..! The course made me realise that, although I have made some films for YouTube and posted them on this Blog page, I have not actually blogged.
SO I WROTE A BLOG
So here is my first Blog, in all its glory. I plan to talk about my paintings and give you an insight into how I create them, sharing Island photographs as well as painting tips. If there’s anything at all that you’d like me to talk about do let me know, I’m looking forward to sharing this new venture with you. And of course I will still be getting outside and filming, I’m just waiting for the rain to stop!
