This is an original painting of a horse race on board with acrylic paints. The painting is 20″ x 16″ and comes to you framed in a contemporary white ‘stepped’ frame, as shown in the product photographs. The overall size, is approximately 26″ x 22″, it comes strung and ready to hang straight on your wall.

I wanted to create the sense of drama of the horses galloping to the finish line urged on by their jockeys, to do this I blurred the background to give and impression of speed and poured the paint down the canvas so that the drips became the legs of the horses. This gives an abstract, contemporary feel to the painting which is enhanced by the bright colours of the jockeys silks. It is inspired by days spent at The Grand National and Cheltenham and the thrill of a day at the races!
