This painting reflects the peace and quiet that the end of the day can sometimes bring and for me, conjures up a feeling of calm as the day turns into night. I wanted the trees to be slightly magical and I can imagine many creatures living in the banks. I created the randomness of the flowers with flicking and spattering, dropping colours onto each other to create slightly surreal flowers. The painting was finished with sparkle and mediums to create texture and shine.
